Monkeying Around - Shooting Wildlife in St. Kitts & Nevis

Writer: Twin Island CinemaTwin Island Cinema

In 2019 the Twin-Island Cinema team consisted of myself as Director, Ajayi Dublin and Bjon Bass as Directors of Photography and two production assistants, Alanni Polanco and Neriah Downey. One of our projects was a featurette on the invasive species populations in St. Kitts & Nevis - in particular, the vervet green monkey along with some sea life and invasive plants.

This required the team to trek into the rainforest to shoot the local research team one various missions to collect specimens, field data and to maintain equipment.

In this clip, we are checking trail cameras that have been set along the trail to the volcanic Mt Liamigua.

Here's a clip of the team and I doing a post-shoot chit chat, discussing the nuances of shooting in that particular (forrest) environment.

Below are some of the finished videos that were used for public awareness & advocacy as well as international reporting.
