I'm thrilled to invite you to an exciting hybrid event where I'll be discussing my research project, Nieuwe Bohío, in partnership with Tilting Axis and the Nieuwe Instituut. Join us for a captivating conversation that delves into the cultural landscapes of the Caribbean and the innovative potential of augmented reality (AR) storytelling.
About Nieuwe Bohío
I'm Klieon John, a writer, filmmaker, and creative director from the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and I'm honored to be the fourth participant in the Tilting Axis Fellowship. Nieuwe Bohío is my vision to bring indigenous Taíno and Kalinago cultures to life through an immersive AR experience. Through cinematic and immersive techniques, I aim to transform ancient histories and mythologies into a digital narrative that resonates with modern audiences.

I'll be joined by esteemed panelists including Annalee Davis, Federica Notari, and Lara Khaldi, who will help explore the impact of this project on architectural research and social work.
This discussion is not just about innovation; it's about honoring heritage, bridging cultural divides, and empowering communities through art and technology. Together, we'll navigate the intersection of past and present, traditional and contemporary, European and Indigenous Caribbean cultures.
I'm incredibly excited to share this journey with you. Join me as we push the boundaries of storytelling and cultural preservation.
